My name is Junior and this is my blog. I’m a librarian so I’m going to post some very heavy library related posts and how they relate to my profession. However, I think I should probably talk about myself a little bit… I’m originally from a small town called Whitesburg which is located in southeastern Kentucky. It’s a small coal-mining town on the border of the Virginia-Kentucky border. My mom is a librarian there and she made it point for us to go to the library every week. I guess she’s to blame for my interest in book slinging.
I studied at the University of Kentucky and got my library degree from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. During this time I was a freelance graphic/web designer as well as a the Chief Web Editor for the Indiana Daily Student. For about six months, I held a position at the Lexington History Museum in Lexington, Ky as a museum assistance before taking my position as Web Services & Multimedia Librarian at the New York City College of Technology, CUNY.
I really enjoy my job, even though I feel like I’m doing 100 projects at once.
